CONNECTING WITH FIRST RESPONDERS AND THEN GOING BACK TO THEM AFTER THINGS EVOLVE TO THANK THEM

Why should you share your story?

Typically when we’re interacting with a first responder, there is so much stress and adrenaline involved, it doesn’t even dawn on us to say thank you at that moment in time.
But when we reflect upon how the first responder helped us, how they comforted us and how they helped bring resolution to the situation, we realize all that they did on one of the worst days of our life. We understand how we couldn’t have gotten through that situation without them. And just think, we were overwhelmed by our situation, they went on to do many more calls just like ours. First responders don’t do this work for the recognition, but when they’re doing it day in and day out to help us, a simple thank you is the least we can do. Many people have told me that they do not know how to go about finding their first responders to say thank you, so this blog is a way to make it easy. Your first responder may not see your message, but other first responders will see that the work that they do is appreciated.
This portal will also serve as a place for first responders to come when they’re having a bad day, so they understand that the work that they do is appreciated. We value you!
